Chamber Resources

As the front door of the community, the Chamber offers a series of publications, guides and resources that welcome newcomers, aid business people, and provide important demographic and economic information.

The Chamber maintains a library of resource directories and useful publications specifically for its membership. The annual Membership Directory is an up-to-date listing of member organizations, listing each member by name, address, and phone. Additionally, this guide highlights Chamber events and walks members through the role of our standing committees, volunteer board, and committee chairs.

Allegany County: Quality of Life is the premier marketing tool in the county for Economic Development. As a colorful, 40-page guide to the county’s attractions and industry mix, this guidebook covers a variety of topics and is distributed within and beyond the region to companies and individuals prospecting Allegany County. Copies are free.

The Relocation Packet anticipates the questions of any who are considering a move to the county. The packet contains education, cost of living, real estate, and job information and is made free to the public at the Chamber office or $7.00 by mail. Pick ups in bulk are available and are free of charge for the first five, $1.00 each thereafter.

Any discussion of Chamber services would be incomplete without reference to the programs and events calendar updated throughout the Chamber year. To name just a few recurring popular events, the Chamber attracts over 900 annually to its renowned Crab Feast in August. Another 350 come out to celebrate the Chamber’s Large and Small Business of the Year in October, and the monthly “Chamber After Hours” program offers businesses the chance to show off their location and products and services among approximately 100 colleagues during the cocktail hour. Quarterly meetings educate and address the community on timely issues. The Chamber also brings together our state legislators twice annually to preview and then review the legislative session in Annapolis.

Whether lunching with the governor or applauding the models of business within the community, the Chamber is the marketplace for ideas, the sounding board for progress, and a firm foundation for building integrity as a respected business in Allegany County.
